I think we are getting close to a run on gold, and here's why. First of all, all of the gold that has ever been mined will fit into two olympic sized swimming pools. The first pool (1/2 of all gold) is jewelry. The second pool is 1/2 owned by all governments, ETFs, and the billionaires & multi-millionaries in the world. Most of this gold is not for sale as physical gold. Another 10% was used for Industrial and not available. The leaves about 1/8 of all of the physical gold for the rest of us....  more

Reasons to avoid gold & silver stocks: 1. Political Risk. Market regulations, taxation, royalties, nationalization, etc. 2. Stock Market Risk. Markets freeze up and stop trading. 3. There are only two types of Americans: 1) Those who KNOW that the Titanic (US Economy) has hit the iceberg and is going down, and 2) Those who don't (mostly those with thick rose colored glasses) and will slowly figure it out. I've been saying since 2008 that we will not over come this debt bubble. There is simply too much debt and not enough income to pay it off. When I did my first research on silver in 2004, the one conclusion I came to was that eventually there would be a shortage. I think it is inevitable. Why? The stuff is so versatile. You can use it in so many products. Now they are using it as an anti-bacterial agent. And just about every new technology uses it: wind turbines, solar panels, electric cars, you name it.
